Mark Donald

Mark co-founded Carbis Partners with Jon Draffan. He is a qualified lawyer and was previously Head of European Leverage Finance at one of the leading US law firms
In his previous roles, Mark led large teams of lawyers and had responsibility for office management and team strategy, as well as sourcing and executing transactions. He held various leadership positions and worked across Europe, the US and Asia on loan, bond and other financings for leading investors, corporates and family offices. Mark studied law at the University of Exeter.
Jon Draffan
Partner
Jon spent 25 years working in private equity, leading M&A and financing activities across Europe and the US
Jon’s career started in Nomura’s Principal Finance Group and he was subsequently a founding member of Terra Firma. At Terra Firma Jon was responsible for leading on acquisitions and debt raising across multiple sectors and geographies. Before co-founding Carbis Partners, Jon was a Managing Director in the London office of GI Partners.
Jon holds a Masters in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University
Adrian Cassidy
Director
Adrian leads our data analytics team. After gaining a PhD in Particle Physics, Adrian started his career in real estate investment before moving to the trans-Atlantic real estate-focussed PE firm GI Partners.
At GI Partners, Adrian sourced, structured, analysed and executed mid-market transactions across Europe and applied data analysis techniques to drive performance and value.
Adrian holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and is a graduate of Bristol University.
Catherine Cassidy
Operations Director
Catherine delivers complex operational projects. She was an integral part of the management team for the British Olympic Association at the London 2012 Olympics. She advises a range of businesses, from start-ups to large portfolio companies.
Catherine leads our Operations Team, supporting our clients and their portfolio companies with operational and strategic input. Catherine holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and is a graduate of the University of Toronto.
James Douglas
Non-Executive Advisor
James provides strategic advice, leadership and mentoring to the business and team as a whole. He established and ran Deloitte's Global Capital Advisory group and has 30 years of experience in private equity and corporate finance. Most recently, James was Vice-Chairman of Deloitte UK.
James is a Chartered Accountant and a past President of the Association of Corporate Treasurers. He holds an honours degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town.
Gary He
Associate
Gary read Japanese Studies at Cambridge, spending a year in Osaka as a government scholar researching territorial disputes. After graduating, he worked in Ernst & Young’s tax team, followed by boutique wealth manager EQ Investors, where he was involved in data analysis, market research and management of bespoke investment portfolios.
Gary holds an MSc in Finance from LSE having specialised in quantitative security analysis and corporate finance. He is also a holder of the Investment Management Certificate.
